SideBySide Crypto (sidebysidecrypto.com) is published by Scout Theory LLC. "We" and "us" in this policy mean Scout Theory LLC.
What we collect
When you browse
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which links are clicked. It collects things like the pages you visit, roughly where you are (city or country level), your device and browser type, how you found the site, and clicks on affiliate buttons. We don't use it to identify you personally.
On some pages we also run our own first-party analytics script (served from mfae.mentulamagna.com) that records similar page-view and form-interaction events.
Our web server also keeps standard access logs (IP address, browser, the page requested, time) for security and troubleshooting.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form, we receive what you type: your name, email address, topic and message, plus the page you sent it from, the time, and basic browser information used to filter spam.
How we use it
- To answer your message and fix anything you report.
- To see which guides are useful and improve the site.
- To count clicks on affiliate links, which is how the site pays for itself.
- To keep the site secure and block spam.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
Third parties
- Google: Google Analytics for site statistics; Google Fonts for typography; Google Sheets and Apps Script to receive contact-form messages.
- Affiliate networks: when you click an affiliate link (such as our Kraken links, tracked by MaxBounty), the network and the exchange may set their own cookies so the sign-up can be credited. Their privacy policies apply once you leave our site.
- Exchanges: any account you open is between you and that exchange. We never see your exchange account details.
- Legal requests: we'll share information if the law requires it.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies to tell visits apart. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works fine without them.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept as long as needed to deal with them, then deleted on request. Analytics data follows Google Analytics' retention settings. Server logs are rotated regularly.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete the information you sent through the contact form. Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights under local law. Send requests through the contact form with the topic "Something else" and we'll handle them.
Children
This site is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
